Unlimited lives:
Intentionally lose all except one life at the end of level 1. Destroy all of the guns and green monsters, then crash into the machine that contained the monster.
Unlimited lives will be available starting at level 2.
Alternatively, face and defeat the level Boss with only one life remaining.
Then, press D and crash into its body.
