Since Diablo is most famous game ever released it is normal to pay so much attention to it!!! Therefore this Cheater Pack will be mostly filled with Diablo files...Here's one of them...!!!
The Power of Telekinesis
If you die in multi-player, you can often get back to your stuff, but be out of view of the creatures that killed you. Since you can "see" items around corners, use the Telekenesis spell to grab all of your things. I died surrounded by 20+ poison spitters, but could get back my stuff by hiding behind a wall!
Give yourself some extra space between a creature like the Butcher by standing as far away as possible, and using the spell to open his door. Extra time to shoot spells and arrows.
See a library or shrine, but cant get in yet? Use the spell to pull a book out of the book shelf, and another to grab it.
Receive Ulimited Stats
First, set up a multiplayer game (IPX recommended, internet play wont work that well). You only need 2 players. Between the two of you, you will need alot of money. If you have the gold cheat, good.
Go to the witch and check to see if you can buy any books or elixirs. If you can, have the character purchase the book(s) or elixir(s) and distribute them to everyone. Then have that character exit and restart into the level. The items will be available to buy again! With a little time, you can up everyone's stats with the right elixirs, and max out the spell level. This also comes in handy if you see a cool item (from Griswold) and everyone wants it.
Armor
The total AC for enchanted armor is as follows. Armor Class of Item + (Armor Class of Item * Percent Bonus)
Weapons
A lot of Newbies assume being able to dish out large damage with a two handed weapon is the way to go. This is not true, a good shield can make all the difference when you're a newbie, or a demigod. Plus, when a weapon takes up two hands, thats one less item of the zodiac that you can use :).
Vanquishing Diablo
When you defeat Diablo, that game ends. Be prepared, don't leave equipment laying around in town or on the ground.
Books
If you find you have a book, but you can't read it, wear some magic raising equipment. I keep a club of +20 magic on my character just for that purpose, they're fairly inexpensive as well, so pick one up, and use it. High level spells rule :).
Sorcerors HP
Sorcerors don't have enough HP. They never will, their vitality sucks. Therefore, use mana shield, even low level sorcerors are running around with 200-300 mana, and it's a hell of a lot safer in the dungeons with damage coming from that instead of his 40 HP.
Sorcerors & Armor
When you're playing a new sorceror, get your magic to like 80 or so, and then concentrate on STR. Most mages don't realize they can run around in full plate tossing fireballs, and it sure makes a hell of a lot of difference. With a few choice items of the zodiac, and a ring of titans, my dinky mage has a 101 str. I haven't come across any armor I can't wear yet.
Acid Beasts
Stay away from the large packs of these. To the best of my knowledge, AC doesn't do anything to avoid acid, it may lessen the damage, but when you got 50 acid beasts spitting at you, even 1 damage per hit adds up fast, and there is no acid resistance either, so DO NOT run into a pack of these beasts, unless you're slumming and shouldn't even be in that level as it's so easy. Your best bet is a spell like charged bolt, firewall, or chain lightning, where you can blast them without getting too close.
Buying Items
So you've just saved up 100k, and you want to snag some good stuff. Don't just go shopping, if you have any higher level friends who you trust with your gold, let them do it, as the items for sale get better with levels. Peg leg boy is the exception of course, he once offered my level 1 sorceror a kings sword of the heavens, +100% to hit, 160% damage, +15 to all stats. Of course, I couldn't afford it, but hey... he did still offer it to me.
Quitting
So you've got one hitpoint left, and you think you have to quit to get out. Think twice, if you don't have anyone else in the game, and they get a lucky shot in, all your stuff is gone. Also, I have noticed that if it's lagged, sometimes, you can drop stuff, and noone else sees this. This is cool when you're making room in your inventory, but not so cool when you quit. If you quit, your local copy of the game will be resynched with theirs when you join again, and if they were out of synch to begin with... say bye bye stuff.
Stats
The distribution of your non... shall we say prime stat for that class doesn't really matter. By the time you're level 25 or so, if you haven't been screwing around too much, should be all maxed out anyway, however, if you dump all your points into the stat that goes to 250, you're gonna be screwed as levels become harder and harder to get. Max out your little stats before the levels get hard to get. Someone else told me this, and I laughed at them, but they were right, My little pansy mage just finished maxing 3 stats, and now I'll work on magic, which I did get to around 90 before maxing the rest out. So, I guess be balanced, when upgrading, you can concentrate on your prime stat later in the game, it's better to be well rounded early on.
Doorways
Many people already know if you stand in a doorway, you can face large numbers of enemies 1 on 1, instead of 250 on 1. This is pretty cool, but what most people don't realize is that if you kill an enemy in front of the door, it can and will become blocked.
This is not cool, especially when the Butcher is after you on nightmare and you blocked all the doors.
Random
A hell of a lot of stuff in the game is random. Level 5 too hard for you? Start a new game, it may be a lot easier. Same goes for shops... don't like what they're selling, start a new game, and it will change. I also noticed that even though the shops offer different people different items, if one guy buys something, ALL the players should find one item missing from the list, and a new one there.
Potions
Around level 25, the witch starts offering you potions of stat enhancement... this rocks. Basically, save up like 100k, and buy 20 of these. She usually only offers 2 per game, so keep joining games and stuff, and crank up your character. Also, in nightmare hell, you can find Spectral Potions, which come in 2 kinds. One is +5 to all stats, the other is +5 to one stat. Either way, they're pretty damn cool. I also noticed that a LOT of potions get dropped in nightmare mode, even in the church levels. So once you're evel 20, go start cleaning out the nightmare church, you'll be pleasantly suprised.
Books
If you're a sorceror, books are everything. Buy whatever you can, and even play levels like 1-4 over and over, you can get spells pretty high level. I had a level 14 firebolt before I even went down to the catacombs, and boy let me tell you, did it make a difference... I had those goat heads running for their lives. The skeleton king's level is usually very fruitful, I usually find 4 books somewhere after I kill Leoric.
Skeleton King
If you're a warrior, you can thrash this guy at level 9 or so with a full belt of healing potions. If you're a sorceror, you can beat him whenever you find him as long as you got full mana potions and holy bolt, he'll just sit there and let you pound on him, even in Nightmare and Hell modes!. For a sorceror, the Butcher is like 5x the skeleton king, even though the reverse is true for anyone else.
After receiving a massive batch of email about this, I have concluded that the Rogue has trouble with the Skeleton King, and that probably the best way to kill him is to wait till around level 9-10, and use a staff of holy bolt on him, unless of course you have enough mana and a high enough holy bolt that you feel confident taking him on with your own skills. I have also heard that a bow of the bear is quite good in defeating Leoric, so try that if you have a saved game or a friend with ressurect :)
Duplicating Items:
Drop any item on the ground and walk back about five spaces.
Make sure you have room in your inventory for two of the items.
Click on the item and right when you are picking it up click on any of the items in your belt (the belt is the area that has 8 spaces for potions and scrolls.)
If you did it right the box where it names the thing your clicker is on should name the thing you are trying to duplicate.
Press the hotkey for inventory (I) and put it in your inventory.
The original item should already be in your inventory.
Make sure your inventory is closed while duplicating until you put the item in.
